Overview of Christianity
Summary
Christianity is a journey. It begins from the moment that you believe in Christ, and thus become saved, and continues through this life until the day of your physical death.
During your time here on this earth, God gives you three things with which to invest during your life. He gives everyone the same three things namely, time, doctrine, and volition. You can use these things to your advantage in order to secure and enhance your eternal future, or you can disregard them and throw away your eternal future.
In eternity past, God foresaw you in His mind, and then during history, He brought you into existence with but one purpose, and that is to allow you the opportunity to grow up in your spiritual life, now in this life, and prepare yourself for your next life in eternity.
There are three members of the Godhead, called the Trinity. They are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son took that title so that arrogance could be put in check, and so that no one could claim equality with the Father, based on their own merit.
There are four expanses of space. The underworld called Hades, the planet earth, the universe, and heaven. The underworld is often called the land of the dead. This earth is the land of the journey. The universe symbolizes the great expanse and distance between God and man. And heaven is the land of eternal life.
Man cannot get to heaven on his own. He needs Gods help in getting there. Man can get to Hades by simply dying, but he cannot return from there despite its close proximity.
Before you were born, you had no say as to the details or circumstances of your life.
After you have been born again, by means of faith in Christ, you then have every opportunity to define and design your eternal future by simply studying doctrine every day, learning it, using it, and growing up to spiritual maturity.
All things spiritual must be accomplished and conducted from inside the fellowship sphere.
Fellowship is the sphere that you enter into when you confess your sins to God the Father. All confession is directed toward the Father. He is the only recipient and target of all prayer.
